I have to say, this show does season finales right, not like the sappy group hugs we got with The Sopranos.
Agreed. That was, in it's sad way, a great finale. Thought they handled the "talk with the kids" in such a manner, that you know damn well a writer went through it. This season seemed even more litterary than seasons past. Don is such a character out of a novel, i.m.o..

Just watched the finale on Monday, so well done! I can't wait for next year.

Another Golden Globe for Mad Men, and well-deserved, at that.

And how about Christina Hendricks? When I saw her appear on stage, my jaw hit the floor. That dress could barely contain her!

I am finding this show is getting a little dry..First season was GREAT but feel its gone "meh" since then...little plain and less interesting. I hope it picks up next season.

I'll admit I had some trouble about half way through the 3rd. But then...w/ the intro. of Connie Hilton and the aftermath of the British takeover at Sterling Cooper, things got interesting fast, remember the John Deer lawnmower scene?. I found Don and Bettie's hospital scenes, where their new baby was born, intensely surreal and interesting (that fireman, and how Don later ran into him and his wife in the hospital hallway....Bettie's hallucinations while on the delivery table...).
The final few episodes dealing with the divorce and break away from Sterling Cooper were as good as any episodes that came before, i.m.h.o.. Finally, that season finale was fantastic and set the show up for a true fresh-start for season 4; both for the core group and Don Draper. I'll admit, I am getting weary of Don's indiscretions ... but, now it's a whole new ballgame there as well.
