Looking at the original post I think this is caused by putting so much weight on top of the Detolf that it starts to bend the glass door via the hinges, thus resulting in it shattering.
The sides of the Deltof are okay, as they're some what supported by the plastic corner pieces, slots in the wood and the metal frame.

I'm glad this thread was revived just to find out I'm not alone  Mine makes a loud ping every couple of days or so, it scares the heck out of me every time. Not too much of value in it because I don't trust it tbh, but I do have my SSC Knifehead sat on top looking awesome...

Wow.... That is crazy.... Probably had a small scratch in it you never paid too much attention too that possibly burst with the change in weather I think.

Wow and yes I'm suprise he took a pic before taking doom off asap. just saw this thread from a memeber who posted this link. I just bought 5 of these and was thinking about putting Lobo on top of it and alien big chap. Now this is a wake up call. I better think twice now. What made the doors break? Is it the weight of doom? Is doom heavy or is he like a eggshell? Scary thinking about it.
