Why? She didn't get involved in any fights so it would have made little difference. They had the totally bad ass cast of "The Raid" and didn't use them. That was one of my biggest disappointments with the movie actually, I was hoping to see them in action.

That isn't true at all. Spoilers obviously... Phasmas sex is irrelevant, she was just a rubbish character, being male wouldn't have changed that. Not only was she wasted, but for the little bit of screen time she did have, she showed no fight at all and actually harmed the First order immensely. The average Stormtrooper would have put up a fight and probably died in that situation rather than drop the shields of the base. Even if she's given a better role in future movies (despite the fact she should be dead) It won't change what she did in TFA. The only way I could see her being salvaged is if she was some kind of double agent, or even just sympathetic to the rebels/republic in some form which could be interesting I suppose.

I'd argue this.

First, if she was some sexy little thing with a skimpy deal on and mad skills she'd have 20 statues on her already. Because she's got nothing to look at she isn't resonating with collectors. She's just a chrome stormtrooper. A big bulky not sexy Chrome stormtrooper.

Re what the average stormtrooper would do, remember the Death Star shields dropped when the imperials surrendered on Endor.

They put up a fight first. And you're probably right about the sexuality thing, it sells no doubt. It was the idea that it is the only option and nobody cares otherwise I was questioning. Phasma didn't need to be in the least bit sexy, she just needed a better role in the movie.

the shields dropped BECAUSE the rebels took the generators on Endor, not just because 1 trooper thought his life was more important than the cause.

Gagaliya that guy in the film is a woman but I agree phasma was awesome design but weak in movie delivery...

that was after a full friggin ground assault and being seriously outnumbered, not because 2 guys said "hey let us kill tons of your comrades and an infinite amount of money and resources, pretty please because if you say no we're totally screwed"
