Nier: Automata

Invaders from another world attack without warning - unleashing the machine lifeforms. To break the deadlock, a new breed of android infantry is sent into the fray: the YoRHa squad. NieR: Automata™ is a fresh take on the action role-playing game (RPG) genre that gracefully blends mesmerising action with a captivating story.

Sorry if there is already a thread. I couldn't find one and that seems weird.

It's getting great reviews and although I'm still pretty early in the story the combat systems is excellent and I love the art and designs in the game. 2B is so hot!
I also really like the sound track so far. Just wondering if anyone else is playing and had some thoughts on it.

How is gameplay. Is the RPG similar to Darksouls 3? I really don't like RPG where you have to talk to every freaking character in the environment.

Thanks.

I never played Darksouls 3 to make the comparison but it's definitely a true RPG with NPC interaction. The thing I like most about it is that it's really a mix bag of everything. It has all the RPG elements but it's also an awesome hack n slash and even has side stuff where you play an awesome version of asteroids. I'm only a few hours in and I think it's 30 hours of game play but I'm enjoying it so far.

If you like RPGs it's awesome. Not for the faint of heart, it's pretty challenging and uses the old school save mechanics. No auto saves. The saving is built into the story. There's a big learning curve on how to optimize but the way it's done is very cool. The combat is what really stands out for me as the controls are very smooth and you can pull off some crazy combos. I'm still pretty early in the story but it's been a lot of fun so far.

I finished the first story mode with 2B and it was tough.

I fancy myself a pretty good gamer and this had me throwing my controller. If I can offer any advice it's stockpile heath you will need it for 2B's final act and it's long. I barley made it and limped to the finish line.

Now playing as 9s but I may put in some autos along the way if it gets to repetitive.

This game looks amazing. And I've heard only good things about it. Haven't played it yet though. But I surely will! A friend of mine told me it's so complex it's different every time you start it over.

Well screw this lol

I don't have time for challenging games. I like them nice and easy these days.
