Twins Of Evil (1971) 8/10 - Finally, a Hammer Vampire film I'd never seen before. Twins is the 3rd in Hammer's Karnstein Trilogy, a loose interpretation of the Vampire novella Carmilla written before Stoker created his Dracula, mainly dealing with a lesbian Vampiress who uses the sympathies & caring tendencies of Aristocratic, isolated, Northern European families (& women's boarding schools)as prey for young girls to empty of blood & life-force. Twins of Evil is should actually be viewed 1st in the trilogy on account in it, there's a resurrection scene dealing w/ a female vampire who's the thread between the 3 films, even though she's played by 3 different actresses. The "twins" in this film are competently & sexily played by, as others have mentioned in this thread recently, by 1970's Playboy models, Mary & Madeleine Collinson. They're quite attractive in this movie & in addition, as usual w/ late period Hammer, there are a ton of Hammer-Girls in supporting roles, all great to behold. The movie is a cross between a Witch Hunting movie & Vampire & devil worship films; quite a modge-podge that really works. Peter Cushig plays witch-hunter, Gustav Weil, in just an outstanding performance. Killer Hammer non-Dracula Vampire flick. I'm now on to their Frankenstein stuff.
*Besides the twin, the movie has a great "main" vampire/count too. * No, he's not gazing upon the "twins of evil".
