Her right hand is too far back, perhaps she's running?
But then her hair should be flowing backwards as well...
Oh wait maybe she dropped something from her left hand and is bending down to pick it up, when something in front draws her attention and she looks up...

Oh gawd I was thinking the same thing when I saw this revealed on FB. Just doesn't work for me at all. The pose is soooo strange!

I'm okay with the pose, she's moving forward a bit by bending over and lowering her body. Not necessarily fully prepared to battle stance, but it's ok. I think the statue has been improved over the original illustration in terms of pose stability. And the face is very lovely so far.

I just don't like the pose in the art or the statue. Both are very nicely done though. Paints look great. Still seems awkward to me.
