I use 32mm cut beech work top with chrome kitchen legs. These will take the weight of two grown adults.

GREAT WORK Chavez553! I'm planning on building my built in shelving as well, using your same methods but I'm going with 2x2 instead of 2x4 and reinforcing the middle throughout for weight distribution. good work - looks nice. built ins looks really nice when the right statues are in there. it can be a very nice polished look.

The thing i don't like about them is they are permanent, they eat into the room and you are restricted on what you can put in there based on the dimension of the built-in. I've found as awesome as they are, and no matter how well one plans it out, there is ALWAYS a piece that a collector wish fit in the pre determined space that doesn't wind up fitting.
