I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Hey Igo: Would you ever do an EX with this color like the Bruce Timm version? Plus the lips eyebrow and extra hair?

Looks great either way!

That's what I want to know as well. The price has gone up at SSC to $505 from $495. Ridiculous!

If TH doesn't want collectors to go for the 1:6 scale, then don't make one. Why bother to do it and then give it such an unreasonable price?

From the sound it, I assume there is absolutely no room for negotiation with the factory in any way, a take-it-or-leave-it type of deal between TH and the factory. Really?

I totally agree with The SHOGUN on raising the price on the 1:4 scale and lowering the price on the 1:6 scale in order to give the price point of both a sense of proportion if nothing else is feasible.

$505 for 1:6 and $630 for 1:4 makes no sense.

I am saying this as a fan of TH because I do want to support the company, but this pricing strategy prohibits me from doing so.

You don?t really discuss though, you just whine and spin conspiracies. But with cutting insights like ?price too high,? no wonder companies are taking you on as their business manager.

Everyone thinks the price is too high, the rest of us are just normal about it.

Don't buy it then, they aren't going to lower the price just because you want them to

Don't mean to go off-topic but I don't understand this.

This 1:6 scale Spiderman figure with a large diorama base from Hot Toys costs $345.

It is full of intricated textures, details and far more complicated in production compared to a statue which is basically resin out of a mould with paint application.

The same Spiderman in the exact same pose with the exact same base in 1:6 scale statue form from TH will most likely cost more than $500. How the heck is that possible? What is going on here?

I know some would argue that paint job is expensive but still. Putting together a Hot Toys figure seems far more labour intensive and time consuming than producing a statue, and yet a statue will cost way more.

Is it the fault of the factory? It doesn't make any sense.

I'm sure the economies of scale are working in favor of Hot Toys figures vs statues with relatively low edition sizes. Paint and materials used are probably other factors.
