25 w/ Kinetiquettes

25 Questions with Adeeb, Creative Director/Co-founder of Kinetiquettes

Typically, interviews ask you the same questions; favorite sculpt, who you want to sculpt and so on. I think if they want your bio, they can Google it. Let's get into the questions we really want to know. The stupid ones...ok, we'll throw a couple of work related ones in there.

Let’s get started...

1- Give us your name and age.
Adeeb 34

2- Are you married or single?
Single

3- Pets? Any weird pets you would like to have?
I have a couple of cats and fishes. Weird pets… hmmmm… a water Salamander?

4- If you were a household item, what would you be?
I don’t think I’d wanna be an item cuz I’d have no consciousness. But if I had to choose, I guess a frying pan? It has many uses.

5- First job you ever had?
Cashier at a supermarket

6- As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up and why?
I had no profession in mind nor did I have any long life goals. I just liked to draw since young.

7- Are you a gamer and if so, what do you play?
Definitely. Although don’t have much time to game these days. When the rare gems release, I’ll make the time to play them. Currently playing Monster Hunter World.

8- First licensed piece you sculpted?
Evil Ryu for Kinetiquettes.

9- If you could travel in time to meet anyone, who would it be and why?
I’d want to meet some of all time masters of sculpting like Michelangelo and Bernini.

10- Who is your favorite superhero? Why? Would that be your ultimate sculpt and if not, what would be and why?
Batman… easily. Cuz he’s that every man’s dream of ever being a superhero.

11- What did you have for dinner last night?
Chinese mixed rice.

12- You get offered a free ticket to vacation anywhere in the world. Where would you go and why?
New Zealand cuz I wanna see where the hobbits live.

13- Do you read comics?
Not really anymore. Used to, when I was a kid.

14- If you were to be a fanboy of something, what would it be (you can't pick anything related to pop culture)?
Fish keeping!

15- What interesting project(s) are you working on?
Working on multiple projects right now. Mainly SNK and anime licenses. Other than sculpting some of the characters, I’m also working with the Art Director and Artists on current licenses and concepting future projects along the way. Sorry can’t provide much details right now. Stay tuned 😉

16- What was the last statue/bust that you sculpted?
Kyo Kusanagi

17- Dog or pony?
Dog!!!

18- If you weren't working in this industry, where do you think you would've ended up?
Probably games industry (where I worked for 9 years)

19- Xbox or PS?
Desktop gaming!

20- Any sculpting horror stories?
Not really sculpting horror stories but I remember our first Evil Ryu sculpt that I molded. The base had so many undercuts that I had to fight with it for almost 6 hours to release it. I had to destroy the mold completely to get the cast out. Luckily the first cast was usable.

21-Do you have\had a mentor?
Erick Sosa and my good friend (Art Director) Keat!

22- What do you do on your spare time?
Barely have any nowadays. I just spend some time in the day taking care of my fish and pets.

23- What’s your favorite scale to work in?
1/6

24- Favorite album\artist?
Simon Lee

25- What would be your ultimate sculpt that’s not pop culture related?
A well designed dragon!

Cool stuff! Didn't know Adeeb loved Batman so much and always thought he spent his free times searching for funny gifs on the internet lol
