Wow, who is the artist man? That is totally unacceptable! He is a thief and has blatantly stole your money. I don't know what it is with some artists these days, but so many of them feel like their clients should be indebted to them for accepting commission work. Then they don't deliver and throw out excuse after excuse. If it were me, he would really be getting "sharp" emails. Don't feel bad at all, he is totally unprofessional and a crook. Call him out and shed some light on his thieving ways.

As much as i feel i have been wronged here, and would love to drop his name etc. I am afraid if i start telling people who he is he would most likely sue me for libel.

I am not an attorney but I am fairly certain that sharing a factual account of what happened is not slander or libel. Slander/libel is telling lies IIRC.

Im having a similar problem with a commissioner, delay after delay, you have to hunt him down for updates, its always shipping next month etc. Tells me my deposit is a NRD which was in the hundreds. Its been a very frustrating 2 years.
GL with your refund. I will be posting a name shortly if this continues after todays email, Im sure he's well known to the forums.

That aside when you fork over the money to a guy for a commission you're pretty much at his mercy especially if we are talking months after the 90 days the cc company gives to file claims. Thats assuming you didnt send him a check or paid actual cash. If you did good luck. I say there's no refund there whatsoever.
Best to avoid things like this is to take it upon yourself to do it yourself. Thats what i did. Took a while and lots of trial and error but i'm happy with what ive accomplished so far. That way im independent of any of these crooks.
