I had a bad experience with Buzz in the past. Pad him for 2 commissions...he did one, which I received, the second one he finished, sent a scan, never shipped the art, and then refused to answer my e-mails. Never did get the art, wrote it off years ago. Will never buy a Buzz piece again.

I'm still waiting on my Tom Grummett piece that was finished back in December. Paid for last may. Hopefully it made it in the mail last week.

I've come to realize that commissions aren't for me. As much as I want personalized pieces from artists, its the waiting that drives me crazy. Sometimes I can't enjoy them after I receive them because of the experience. I have a few pieces tucked away in the closet.

Will do. Just let me know your name and what you commissioned and I'll ask him!

Chris Spouse, Jae Lee, SpiderGuile. Probably 1 or 2 others I've forgotten about.

Waiting on one commission since August 2015 iirc. Not really that long as the artist has gone to maybe 10 conventions in that time, and is also working on at least one issue of a book. He's pretty cool and we communicate so I'm not panicking.

Hey Don, Sprouse is local to me. Let me know if I can help.

I hear a lot of bad stories about Buzz going back to when I first started getting commissions 8-10 years ago. It caused me to avoid him for a while but I finally decided to take a chance and had a great experience at a show and I talk to him at most shows I see him at. I was able to get mine at the show which I think was key - no chasing him online. Super nice guy to chat with so it is hard to figure all the issues. Good example of an artist that could use a good rep.

Felipe Massafera - Coming up on 1 year
Mitch Ballard - 7 months
John Stinsman - 5 Months

A couple others that are approaching the 'couple months ago' range but not at the 'red flag, taking too long' point yet as the ones above.

Really wish when you ask "Are you currently available for commission" and the artist says "Yes", they actually MEAN it. I wouldn't ask that question up front if I wanted to wait half a year to a year for something.
