It was another exciting experience this year for Heroescon. Last year, I had to leave on Friday due to an emergency surgery for my daughter but did get to come back.
This year was no different. Almost two weeks ago, my wife had to go to the ER and we found out her appendix has perforated so she had to have emergency surgery. She came home last weekend but had complications so I had to take her to the ER this past Wednesday and she had to have more surgery. She was in the hospital and didn't get out til Saturday. Luckily the very awesome Jadegiant had come to the house and was able to get my two sketchbooks and get some pieces arranged at the start of the show. My wife felt better on Saturday and my youngest two daughters and her made me go since it is the one con I look forward to each year. I was able to attend Sunday and even though it was only one day, still the best con there is around. I got two pieces in my Planet Hulk sketch book and decided to start a new non-Hulk sketch book based on 50's movie monsters. I grew up watching those movies on friday nights and saturday mornings so I love seeing what artists can do. I let the artist decide which monster they want to do. Had to get Creaturebox to start the box as they are by far the best monster artists there is out there. I really hope next year is much less eventful on the family health front.
And now 0-7 for Mark Brooks for another year. (he wasn't there but I had made other arrangement which didn't work out)
