Anyone able to opine on, or recommend, some conditioners that are available for bonded leather and pleather?

I've been using baby oil on a bonded leather office chair, but I understand that's not really the best stuff to use.

I guess it just shows you that you can't trust anything SS makes regardless of materials...

Yeah if I see a statue has pleather I'm out immediately.
Rubber is also an issue.

And honestly, the whole mixed media thing is from back when statues were a lot cheaper and nastier looking. Mixed media looked better than 'solid' statues of the time.

But today's statues are such high quality. Does anyone look at the incredible stuff XM or Prime1 put out and think, 'gee if only the outfit was cloth'.

I have Rogue, Cyclops and Batman since release and none of them are cracking. It must be the humidity.

My basement is cool and dry, so no issues so far. I always had adehumidifier running during the Spring and Summer months, even before I had my statue display there.

Me too. Case in point. When I saw XM's first Hulk I thought the sculpted ripped shirt looked horrible and a fabric one would have been much, much better.

I've never bought a mixed-media and never will, which sucks because I love that new Emma Frost

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I'm not sure anything would've made the first XM HULK look much better. But, I do get the point you're trying to make. I personally think it all boils down to sculpt and paint apps. I believe that cloth is unnecessary nowadays. With the incredible digital sculptors out there today, it's easier than ever to have sculpted cloth look very realistic today. I can see why cloth capes are still being used though. Not because it is hard to sculpt them but because of weight and leaning concerns. I'd still prefer a light weight fiberglass cape or something similar.

Either way, Sideshow has built their company on mixed media statues. No matter how many of us prefer fully sculpted pieces (I do), I can't see Sideshow eliminating cloth from their statues.

It's not that I think the sculpts are not superb nowadays (most of them are, I adore the one of the new Sabertooth), but mixed media gives the Premium Format the premium feel (for me).
I always felt like Sideshow could make the same statue with MM and call it Premium Format and without MM they can call it Statue (or something more appealing).
Like this everybody will be happy.
Kind of what Prime 1 does with the fabric/sculpted capes but thought one step further.
(of course never will happen with them)
