SONY NEWS
In an interview with MTV, Worldwide Sony President Phil Harrison was asked about the Nintendo's DS whooping of the PSP. He mentioned he congratulates Nintendo on such a successful product, noting that Nintendo's consumer's are Sony's consumers of tomorrow. Which at one point noted by a gamer, "because you can't buy our systems today."
And his thoughts on Sony's developers' usage of PS3 power and features, was that the games on the market now and up and coming use less then half of the PS3's potential and that no one will ever use 100% of it's capability. No reasoning behind why he said that. Most ppl think it's because it's so hard developer's won't even care to try. Nice of letting us know we're getting what we paid for....

PLAYSTATION EXCLUSIVES not SO EXCLUSIVE...
PS3 has lost Sega's Virtua Fighter 5's exclusive rights. They stated that it will also be released on the 360. We all heard the rumours as well about MGS4 being non exclusive as well though Konami has stated that there are no plans for releasing Metal Gear Solid 4 on the 360 AT THIS TIME. So like Ubisoft with many of their games like Splinter Cell and Asassin's Creed (which was going to be a PS3 exclusive as well), they'll most likely release it a couple of months after it's on the PS3.
Fact of the matter is, these games are just getting to expensive to make and in order for the developer's to get some cash back they have to put their software out there as broad as possible for everyone to pick up to make the most bucks. And frankly with Sony's low console numbers out they just wouldn't make their cash back. I think it was stated a while back when the PS3 was coming out from a developer's interview that they needed to sell at least double the amount of PS3's released in software to AT LEAST get their money back.
Tough industry all around.

NEW PS3 TO COME OUT
I dunno if you guys heard but the production of PS3's is finally ramping up due to the fix on the blue diodes they had such problems with during initial productions. They should be pumping out as many as their initial launch each month practically, so they'll be widely available soon enough. Still doesn't mean they'll have great games by then...
BUT! That isn't the new PS3 I'm talking about.
Sony's Ken Kuturagi has said they are supposedly also planning on releasing a more AUDIO/VIDEO FRIENDLY system; with 2 HDMI ports, a larger power supply, anti shake technology (yeah cause you don't want your movies skipping while you're running with it right?) and DOUBLE the amount of memory.
How much? A Japanese tech company believes it will go for:
$2500 MSRP. RIIIIIIGHT.
Remember Sony did this in Dec 2003 with the PSX a more media center like system with TiVo like features and a 250GB drive for $900. And of course that did poorly. You think they'd learn by now...

XBOX 360 NEWS
A new 360 is finally coming out. Pretty much a version 2.0. Currently named the Zephyr 360 (the original 360 was codenamed the Xenon, and wait Microsoft just came out with a Zune...hmm) will have HDMI output for 1080p, 120GB drive, and a new cooler 65mmprocessor. Ppl have stated that it will come out SOON. Kinda sucks I just got this one eh? Hah.

GENERAL STUFF
XCM has released a component cable that combines the systems Wii, PS3, and the 360 all within one cable. It works surprisingly well and only retails for $29.99. Well worth it if you have all 3 systems or even just the PS2. I'm thinking of getting one actually. I mean the component cable for the Wii alone was $30!
