You got a refund right? How can it be your fault, the machine is designed to be turned on... and played... I dont know many 15 minute gamers out there...

same here. Hopefully this weekend. I got my HDMI splitter box and extra cables this weekend so I am good to go. Now I just need to find the time.

I really find it hard to believe that Sony would not replace a defective unit because you didn't sign up and register on some website. They know the unit is no more that 2 months old and I would think a proof of purchase would be more than sufficient. I'm sure a couple of strategic phone calls would get a new unit on it's way.

Yeah, no way I would just lay down and take that. I would definitely make some noise.

I considered that when buying my 360 on the launch day but from expirience I knew if anything would malfunction I'd get a replacement from MS (as happened to me with the regular xbox). And yes my 360 did froze but I got it replaced (shipped monday - got it back friday) with no shipping charges or nothing, didnt even have to show proof of purchase. Picked it up at my doorstep and everything

I also had the same BS when my PS2 broke down, I sold it and never looked back

(unless sony still comes up with a reason for me to buy a PS3 but it's looking highly unlikely)
