MCU Fantastic Four!
I know this has been brought up in the Phase 4 thread, but this is big enough it deserves its own.
The MCU should do the Fantastic Four right!
What terrific news!!

I think I’m the only person that didn’t think the last one was terrible. Regardless, it will be nice to add this element to the MCU.

You lucky FF SOBs are going to be the first to see your team done justice. I’m jealous. I will gladly support this FF venture.
I will also longingly await XMen.

If they stay close to the source material, the FF could be a really fun franchise to follow -- and something tailor made for Disney as it can be quite family oriented and has virtually no sexual-theme component. However, the tough part of being a long time fan is having to let go of what we historically know of the FF. Chances are the characters will be of a different age, different culture, and likely different gender -- not that there is anything wrong with that, in principle. Films today are largely about representing how audiences look now, which is arguably long overdue. Selfishly though, I would have preferred Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben to remain as presented by Stan and Jack -- but that will likely never happen now or ever.

I agree. And we can only hope. Marvel Studios’ been pretty faithful to the source material thus far.

Marvel went out of their way back then to create diverse characters later. I think it unnecessary to keep flipping race or sexes for evening things out when there are plenty of existing characters to use that go back many decades as well that deserve a shot and serve that purpose way way waaaaay better.... Black Panther and Captain Marvel both proved you don't need to flip anybody, were monster hits. As was Snipe's Blade, which I personally consider the start of the MCU even it it's not on paper.
Give them a chance and they won't disappoint. There is no need to leverage off other characters to portray better all of humanity.
Flipping means we are cheated of those characters getting their chance.
It's arguable that flipping actually accomplishes the opposite of it's intent.
