I have a little mermaid bag and leggings right here that my wife bought from Hot Topic and the tag inside says Disney.

I am pretty sure that Disney would notice a big chain like Hot Topic selling products that clearly have Disney designed characters on them and promptly sue them if they weren't properly licensed.


edit: In fact, if you just go to the Hot Topic site you can see Disney all over the place.

The art on the Hot Topic products is a far cry from what is typically on Bishoujo's.

Even in these examples Ariels proportions and look are very close to Disney's control art.

I got this idea from an April Fools bishoujo article that I fell for and got attached to it :P
Star Wars characters getting pulled from this line made the Disney Bishoujo possibility even more slim, but, still, I'm with you guys. I hope Koto would make Disney figures. Good Smile is making some with the chibi line 'nendoroids', I wish Koto would follow suit.

They can make Bishoujo's based off the original fairytales as they are public domain. Grim Fairytales has lots of examples of what you could base the Bishoujo's on without stepping on Disney's toes. Koto should just get a license from Grim Fairytale comics to use their art.

Im thinking another Disney bishoujo would be pretty tame compared to other lines.
