Wonder Woman Premium Format Paint Help

Hey! My Sideshow Wonder Woman PF came with pretty bad looking boots. The white is very off-white, you can see visible paint strokes and it overlaps onto the red. I would like to repaint both of her boots. I've never painted any 3-D models or anything like that, so I have no clue how to paint something like this. Would it look bad if I used a hand held brush? What paint/primer would I need? Also, if you think this is a horrible idea for a first time painter and I may ruin my statue, let me know! Thanks for any help!

If you see paint stroke now, same will happen if you use a paint brush to redo it. With a paint brush you have to built thin layers to get it smooth and even then its still hard on a sculpt.

Best thing to do is use a airbrush, or a can of spray paint. Taymia makes paints for a airbrush but also makes small can sprays which could work for the red boot. But would need to mask it off.

For the white same thing, would need to do the boot first, then mask off and then paint the white.

I did a two part video on masking with Silly Putty that might help you out

Thanks! I'll be sure to check out your videos before deciding to do anything else.

I would not use this as your first time paint, you'll do more harm than good. Practice first on anything you don't value.

even trying to paint a plastic spoon with half of it masked off will help.

that'll teach you how much paint to use, when to pull the masking off, if you've applied the mask properly, etc.
