Those look great. I'd say you got a heck of a deal given the quality.

Nope...no mat....but I'll ask about matting when I go in next week. I'm not sure I even want matting with my larger prints.

Speaking for myself I'd never do anything less than a single mat. To me matting just looks classier and if I'm going to spend the money on a professional frame-up I want it to look better than a simple DIY job, which is what no matting looks like to me. Done right it adds quite a bit to the presentation.

Museum glass is usually at least $50-$75 of the cost.

I kind of like the simplicity of no matting though.....

Before I started getting my prints framed I used to think the same way. I didn't want anything detracting from the image, so I was of the mind that I wouldn't use any matting. After spending a lot of time with different framers and looking at a lot of different collections, I realized that matting was definitely the way to go. Mats allow the print to occupy their own space, and choosing the right color will help bring the viewers attention to all the detail a print has to offer. Not only that, but like Hellboy said, matting gives the whole thing some class.

Everyone has different tastes, but I would strongly advice you take a look at a lot of collections before you make your final decision. The Framed Stuff threads at expressobeans.com is a great place to get a sense of what matting may or may not do for your print.

Thanks guys. I forget exactly what they said, it was actually cheaper to get a single mat than not because they wouldve had to do other things to keep each poster protected. The UV glass was actually cheaper than plexiglass too.
