I'm sure there are more than a few that wouldn't translate well on screen, but I'd like them to take more chances. Hollywood seems good with the monotony, though. For me, it was the costumes/creative design of the characters that drew me in...these movies generally strip them of that.

While were on it...Transformers has no excuse.

Alex Ross showed how photo-realistic but comic book faithful costumes can work, and Sandy Collera made that work in film with Batman Dead End. No question.

I cannot disagree, the change lead to my favorite uniforms for Cyclops, the ones from Astonishing X-Men, plus Jean Grey looked stunning in that black outfit and coat.....man, red heads in black, I love Black Widow, pretty sure I'm biased because of her.
