I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Alamo City Comic Con Haul (& a Bonus) - Andrew Robinson, Brandon Peterson, Mindy Lee

ACCC was super annoying this year. It was run really poorly, but I was at least able to come away with some nice art despite, the clusterf*** it started out as. I don't know that we'll be going back after that. We'll have to see if they pull anymore junk next year.

Here's my haul:

Andrew Robinson

This one is huge, 11x14 and so nice.

Mindy Lee

The color she added was a total surprise, and my jaw dropped when she showed me, it just leaps off the page with that little pop.

Brandon Peterson

This one might be my fave. The highlights and gloss he did on her body suit looks even more amazing in person.

Dave Johnson

This one is just super cute.

All have been added to my CAF Gallery:

And my husband got me this one for our 10th Anniversary this year too (I forgot to post it back in April):

This bonus doodle is on the back.

Nice haul. I am curious what you thought was the CF? I assume you are talking about the no bag policy. Otherwise I thought it was well planned out and easy to get to creators

Thanks.

My husband has medical supplies he has to have with us at all times. We came from Austin, and only had a hotel room for one night. I was carrying everything in a backpack for both of us. So, telling us as we get in line that we can't bring in a bag with those supplies was unacceptable. I went to get a medical exception from a manager and it was denied, AFTER pulling everything out of the bag to have it checked at the dealer search area, and I was then given a ripped paper bag to put his supplies, all my purse items, and my art portfolio in as a "suitable compromise". Needless to say, that was not a workable situation. That also lost me 20 minutes and put us farther back in line, then on top of that we had to return to our car to put everything in the bag back there because a ripped paper bag is not a solution and I was really worried I wouldn't be able to get to the artists I wanted, and in the end I did lose out on two that were at the top of my list because I couldn't get to them quickly enough.

Then the way they had you funneled into the building was infuriating because if you left at all, like to get medical supplies from your car, you had to walk all the way back around the place to go through "security" which was one guy scanning tickets. One. Guy. That all just really poisoned the experience for me. And when their people cop an attitude and tell you that "you were given plenty of warning, we put it on the website" when they had only made the decision the night before and posted it nowhere but possibly social media, I was in a fowl mood after that.

They also turned us away from two bathrooms on the con floor because they were for the celebrities only. Which is a minor quibble, but still annoying because it wasn't marked at all (at least on Friday.)

I wonder if your bag search happened because of what went down here in phoenix. I'm pretty sure that was the same weekend.
