Supanova Perth haul (without leaving home) - Perez, Saviuk, Brooks + extra Yardin!

First a little backstory..... as luck would have it, I travelled from Adelaide to Perth for work the Sunday night after Oz Comic Con Adelaide, back in March this year. So I was able to pick up and hand deliver a Matthew Clark Darkseid commission that Wrothy had organised for a friend (and catch up for a couple beers too!)

Flash forward to June 2013, and that one small favour has been repaid ten-fold! Wrothy kindly agreed to get George Perez to contribute to my Avengers jam at Supanova Perth 2013. And then, without me even having to ask, he organised contributions from Alex Saviuk and the hard-to-get Mark Brooks as well! Not to mention picking up a Saviuk commission I had organised, getting comics signed by Perez and Chris Claremont, and getting the whole lot safely back to me within a few days of the con!

Wrothy, you have some good karma coming your way mate! (and some big return favours as soon as I get the chance!) Cheers again mate

And now the art:

The Avengers jam has just 7 more squares to go, with a bit of luck and the right guests at Armageddon and Adelaide Supanova, I might get it finished by the time the year is out! Really stoked with all three new contributions. The soft shadings on Mark Brook's Wasp are incredible, he does such beautiful women!

And I love Alex's Spidey & Black Cat piece too, I grew up on Web of Spidey back when he was doing it, and the black costume is a sentimental favourite of mine.

And then there's this:

A week or so before OzCC Adelaide I saw David Yardin, X-Factor cover artist extraordinaire, had opened up his list for a limited number of pre-con commissions. I have a few Yardin pieces already, but I really wanted something bigger, so I jumped at the chance. Dave didn't get the commission done in time for the con, but I wasn't worried because I knew that extra time would mean extra "sauce" as he calls it.

A month or two later, Dave sends me a pic of this and asks humbly if I was happy with it. I was speechless to say the least. Not only is it the best piece of art I own, it's the best Cloak and Dagger I have ever seen. The pose, Dagger's face, the folds and patterns on Cloak's... cloak - it leaps off the page and I am just wrapped to own this.

Always happy to help a fellow collector Ryan. Glad that you like the jam pieces - I think they all did a superb job.

And that Cloak and Dagger piece! That is cover quality mate!

Thanks Terence & Steve!

The C&D really is cover quality mate, my thoughts exactly when I got it. If Marvel ever publish a Cloak & Dagger comic again, this would be the cover for it!
