The All Purpose Jam Thread

Kinda felt bad for Hi Jacking Troy's thread so I figured I would start the all purpose jam Thread here. Go ahead and hopefully post your jams here.

This was not my first but it was my first in regards to a layout. For me personally I need the layout aspect. I had Jams where I clearly had a vision and thought I made clear to some artist but some how it would be bungled or the size diffrence made it look off.

This was a layout done by Ale Garza. It's based on an Uncanny X-Men Cover by Carlos Pacheco.

My opinion is the first artist starting it should be a superstar. Very Lucky to Get Bryan Hitch. he started it off and was very Forunate to get George Perez, Marc Silvestri, Ed Mcguiness, David Finch and Arthur Adams.

On a smaller scale another Homage. This one was an Homage to Arthur Adams run on the New Fantastic Four Storyline. This was my attempt at the cover logo.

Jimmy Cheung Layed it out and Rendered Ghost Rider with Addtions by David Finch, Olivier Coipel and Leinil Yu.

excellent jam pieces!

here are my two pieces, both homages to Alex Ross' Original 7 painting.

Went with Greg Woronchak on the blue lines.

Agree that having a layout and a great artist kick them off is key to success. Also having a great artist for the marquee piece is key.

For both pieces I had Freddie Williams kick it off and he did a superb job on both.

Wow!! talk about an all star line-up. In terms of quality names on a single piece that one has to take the cake!

for all my jams, i never had a layout done. hopefully the artsit will keep the proporations correct.

if the fear of a layout is stopping peopel, i've done gride ones too. i like them because it looks more uniform and doesnt give any wasted dead space.

stupid question, but how does a layout work. you get somebody to draw everybody out then the others just draw over their intended spot?

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

i'm currently doing two jam pieces and while both are taking a while to complete i'm very happy with them so far.

One is my all jim chueng flash jam piece and the other is a legion of doom jam piece. Niether were layed out even though i asked kramer to do so on my legion of doom piece he said he didn't want to take the artist approach away from the other artist.

by the way mike i can't wait to see what you do with that olivier piece.
