here is a new convention exclusive concept
This is a pre-order item that is available for physical, in-person pick up only at Comic-Con in San Diego, if you will not be attending we will not be able to honor your order.
If you place a pre-order for this figure online and you do not pick up at the show your order will be cancelled and you will be refunded for the order. There will be no exceptions. You MUST bring a photo ID and either your confirmation page or this confirmation e-mail to the StarWarsShop.com booth Comic-Con in San Diego in order to claim your figure.

obviously the action figure is lame, but what do you think about pre-ordering convention exclusives?

This is old news. Sideshow handled their SDCC exclusives this way last year. You ordered them and paid for them through their website, prior to the con, and then picked them up at SDCC. And you could not order them and have someone else pick them up for you. The person ordering has to show up to get them and show ID. It seemed to work pretty well. Leftovers were distributed via a list on which non-attendees signed up. Sideshow is doing the same thing this year with their exclusives.

Seems like a smart idea to bring a little order to a normally unruley situation...

Yeah i did this last year. It seamed to work pretty well but kids who got their parents to order them on their cards couldn't pick them up. It did seem to cut down on the quese and the chaos when it came to collecting exclusives
