I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I thought my brother was playing a cruel joke on me when he said it made a billion. Times a changing

I was more surprised that Aquaman grossed a $1 billion. Not Wonder Woman, not Justice League, but Aquaman.

I thought Brie did a good job acting in the "Room" but in Captain Marvel her acting came across as very bland....

Now that might not be her fault but the way the director wanted her to act so who knows... either case I didn't think her acting was all that great in this movie...

I'm also surprised with Aquaman crossing the $1 billion mark... just goes to show you there are a lot of kids out there seeing these movies over and over again in the theaters to push them past the billion mark...

Maybe it's just me getting older as I want more substance in the stories vs big explosions...

Exactly. Last Jedi made over a Billion and it's horrible in every way possible.

Like I said smart marketing...

I thought Endgame would cannibalize all interest and I know people who skip various Marvel movies entirely always show up for Avengers.

Hard to say, I guess we will see how Captain Marvel 2 & 3 eventually do to see various factors if this is a consistent billion dollar IP or one of declining returns.
I think you two are looking at it in reverse. It wasn't so much about it being so close to Endgame, but having been since last July that a Marvel movie came out (Ant-Man and the Wasp). We usually got a Marvel movie in November too, but not last year, so it was a relatively long wait (9 months).

Aquaman is the highest grossing DC movie ever. More than any Superman or Batman movie. The rules should be thrown out given what has transpired these past five years.

Even Ant-Man is a big film franchise now. I don't know how this effects the comics though. I for one don't get any Ant-Man comics even if i loved the films. Sorry but i just don't have faith in that comics.

Many people just want to go to theatres and see a movie they don't have to think. Comic movies fit the bill perfectly.
