SDCC Artist Editions!

Apart from the Shanna commissions and single published page which I picked up, I also acquired a couple of beautifully produced Artist Editions including:

Conan: Red Nails (Genesis West) reproducing BWS' pages in full size with all the indicia.

Slipcase

Front Cover

Mark Schultz's Xenozoic Tales (IDW, SDCC Cover Variant/limited edition)

I wish I could have purchased more of the other IDW AE releases at SDCC but their size & weight meant my luggage allowance would soon have been reached and surpassed!

Sorry if I posted in the wrong section but I figured that since these were Artist Editions they also fit in the OA section

It was obviously available at the show and they had Roy Thomas at their booth to sign the book. I notice that shops like Midtown Comics are advertising it so I'm guessing that your local comic shop will be able to order it in -

Thanks for pics, Royd. I am a big fan of these books and, aside from the exclusives, have every one of them since AE's inception with Rocketeer. I will be buying every single one released. I pre ordered Red Nails with my LCS couple months back but missed seeing it at SDCC when I was there. If you don't mind, can you take some pics of the interior pages for Red Nails. Would love to see them. Also, is the slipcase an exclusive for SDCC only? Thanks in advance.

Not sure how this is convention and not OA, but . . .

I attended the IDW panel on artists editions and there is a lot of material on the horizon and the books will be coming out at a more rapid pace. While aspects of the panel were informative the questions at times were ridiculous. There is a saying that there is no such thing as a stupid question and certain people take this statement as a challenge.

Just about to head off to bed (night-time here in Perth) but I did try to take some pics - unfortunately the flash interferes with the pic and without the flash there are too many shadows.

I will take some pics tomorrow morning when the light is better and post them then

As far as I know, the slipcase comes standard. More pics as promised:

Thanks for taking the time to put them up, Royd! Can't wait to get mine. Looks like Genesis West used paper with gloss for reproduction. I could be wrong. Are you satisfied with the paper they used? Will be part of my collection regardless.
