Even if you manage to get it to stick, the air dry clay with dry out the sculpey making it crack.
Aves apoxie sculpt works great over air dry clay, I sculpt most of my statues that way.

Not that I know of, all apoxie clays run at similar prices.
And they are not cheap!
You might just be better off using foil to bulk instead.
Why do you use airdry clay to block out your sculpts?
If it's just to save money, foil is even cheaper.

I use airdry clay to block my sculpts because I like to be able to hold the sculpt, instead of building a stand.
But I found if you use foil to bulk it out then cover the foil with a layer of sculpey and bake it.
That way you will have a solid base to hold and sculpey sticks to cooked sculpey reasonably well.

Anyways hope that helps.

You can oven bake the sculpted air dry clay first - and then roll out a thin layer of sculpey and wrap around your sculpt and build off that, I've never had any problems this way.

I often bulk out larger items in EPS foam then coat it with Apoxie-Sculpt. One neat thing with this is if you want hollow pieces. Just cut an opening and burn out the EPS with either a Mapp type torch or acetone.
