DC Comics/DC Direct Forum
Why are there no DC statue collectors participating on the DC Direct Forum on the DC Comics website ? The only posters are a bunch of youthful action figure collectors ? I'm not suggesting that there is anything wrong with action figure collectors but occasionally I would like to initiate a discussion about DC statues etc. and I never get any responses. Is everyone aware of it and just choosing not to view it or is everyone unaware ?

Because they make there majority of capital from toys. I almost think statues are after thoughts for them.

Because they don't care. It's all about the money and the toy line generates more money. Statue talk to them are chump change. There not going to listen.

Yes, I havae and will continue to do so but I have just never undersood why the Forum over on DC Direct only seems to accomodate action figure collectors and I would like to engage in discussions at that forum about other DC creations.

Because DC Direct's backbone for many years was their action figure releases, and their other products, comparitively, such as statues and prp replicas, never had as large or passionate a following, as high a profit margin, or as much press. As such naturally the board over there built up predominantly around those action figure collectors, and the few statue collectors who went there found they couldn't get that much of an informed or enjoyable two way debate going in regards to most of the higher end DC Direct offerings, so as a result they naturally drifted away to other places where they could find such discussion, like here for example.
I actually think that now Mattel has taken such a huge and popular slice of the action figure market away from DC Direct with their DC Universe Classics line, DC Direct is going to have to rethink some of their priorities in order to stay relevant even within their own market niche. It'll be interesting to see how they react and change (or don't) over the coming year or two...

I agree. With the new Mattel lines sculpting being so good, the DC Direct line is almost not needed. Will be interesting to see what happens there.
