Are there any new King Kong Pre-order items coming from Weta?

Here is an awesome picture of a V-Rex Maquette that Weta used in producing the 2005 King Kong movie.

Anybody know if Weta is planning to make the V-Rex as a seperate Full Body Maquette? I would LOVE one of these!

But I doubt that they will make it, though. The statues they made for Kong, as well as Narnia, weren't good sellers.
But one can only hope. I was watching the WETA DVD(making of Superman Return statues) that came with my Daily Planet Superman Returns statue, and they showed many scenes inside WETA Studios, and you can see some nice statues on the background, from LOTR to Superman Returns. Really cool stuff!

The only new Weta King Kong product I know of is the mini statue in that DVD set, but that V-Rex maquette is awesome indeed!

Why do you think Narnia and Kong were such poor sellers? Was it just advertising or Weta prices?

Maybe a bit of both, but one of the "biggest" reasons was that too much pieces were made and the movies weren't _that_ popular. You can see the stores and ebay pratically giving these away.
They cut it down edition sizes on the Superman Returns statues, which helped the sales a little, but then SR also wasn't the popular movie people thought it would be. But SR have some pieces that are sold out, or close to.

Good for the people that wanted a deal on these, that's for sure! They are awesome statues, very well sculpted by the people at WETA.

I just got a newsletter from Tales of Wonder. They're selling the Kong VS Rex statue for $150. That seems like an incredible deal. Is it? Why's it being sold so cheap? I'm surprised that these have done so poorly.

I originally ordered this from my LCS on it's initial release but canceled when I decided not to buy any more movie related pieces. But for $170 shipped, this Kong vs. TRex was just too hard to pass up. I finally received it today during lunch.
