World Cup starts soon...yesssss!
Not a huge soccer fan or futbol as our neighbors call it...but the World Cup is some exciting stuff....maybe its just the fact that it is one of the few games where any country around the world can compete on a global level...I would love to be a part of that atmosphere live....any1else tuning in this year or better yet actually going to the games in person?

My next door neighbor was hired to manage the main stadium as well as plan on all the events in other stadiums in S Africa. Sounds like quite a cool job. I don't know if any of you have heard of Barry Fey, he was a big concert promoter in Denver and I think he promoted concerts around the states but I'm not sure. His son has a lot of experience in this realm. I wouldn't be surprise if he comes back with a lot of signed goodies.

Well I plan to watch as many games as possible...I have no idea how England will do, even though they were one of the best qualifiers we never seem to live up to our potential in the big tournaments.
We'll see...but regardless I'm very excited...

Which one...Rooney?
I would imagine so...
Beckham got injured before the tournament, which is a real shame cause he's still one of the hardest workers in football.
I think this is Spain's year though.

Nah..I was speaking of Beckham....didnt know he was injured...didnt get to see any prelims...but I feel it being in S Africa this year...one of the African teams might just bring the game to the table this time...Nigeria and Cameroon have always been strong...

Not really impressed with the friendly against Japan.
England won 2-1 but didn't score a goal

Won't happen, mark my words.
It's be Brazil or Spain.
The thing with African teams is they run themselves to death over 90 minutes...all it takes is a team like Italy or Spain to sit back and absorb pressure and hit them on the counter...African teams are really not that hot defensively.

Well England have this weird attitude towards friendlies where they don't play a full strength squad.
In the qualifiers we were a much stronger team...the only two teams stronger were Spain and Netherlands.
Messi recently said in an interview he thought England were third favourites and he was more scared of facing England than Italy or France.
