Check out the trailer that just came out over the weekend for a look at the transformed ‘Cheetah’.

That's pretty much exactly what I thought as well.

Looking at that first photo, I'd be hard-pressed to say that looked like any earthly animal, let alone a cheetah. And, I agree, I see more of a monkey resemblance when I see the tail in conjunction with the longer fur/hair.

In saying that, I do appreciate the skill/detail in the sculpt. And it certainly portrays an evil, menacing adversary.

Heck it’s not like the comic costume is all that accurate either.
As for film accuracy, even in this fuzzy image from the trailer looks like they missed the mark.

I had already seen that. A quick glimpse of the beast.

Does anyone think about how movie villains and costumes are ruined now because of toys and merch? Like this or back before Star Wars 9 came out they had "sith trooper" toys in stores like 2 months before the movie.

Not really.

It’s fairly easy to ignore.

More often than not, I find trailers really revealing nowadays. So much so I usually only watch the first movie trailer and ignore the other releases until I see the film. I think this was the first time in a while that I viewed a later trailer.
