US postage to UK

Hi everyone. Has anyone got any experience with US postage to the UK? I purchased something from someone quite a while ago and I'm in genuine shock at how long it seems to be taking. Supposedly it was sent standard and i don't believe it has a tracking number. The item was sent 12 weeks ago. Seems excessive to me.

It shouldn't take 3 months to arrive from the US, when I buy items from the US it usually arrives within 1 month.

Shouldn't take that long. Just sent a Bowen piece across the pond with Priority Mail Express. Dropped it at USPS on 6/25 and it arrived in the UK on 6/28. Should be delivered shortly.

Are we sure the package wasn't detained in customs for whatever reason?

Have asked for an update. The last time i asked i was just told that it was sent standard so expect it to take a long time using Australia as an example.

I sent a package from U.K to Cali. a couple of months ago and it got there in three days. I was amazed and impressed.

The same package was collected today for return delivery so waiting to see how long that takes.

Three months doesn't sound good and no tracking sounds even worse.

The average sloth could deliver it quicker than that. Something sounds wrong...

A Statueforum member from the UK visited the US and fell in love with a lot of American snacks that wasn't available in the UK. So he asked me to send him some. Bought about $100 of snyder pretzels, skittles, and a bunch of other types of snacks. Sent it priority insured to the UK and the box never arrived. (I can imaging the UK postal workers sitting around eating all the snacks).

Tried a second time with snacks and some jeans and some baseball caps. Box arrived all beat up minus most of the snacks, a pair of jeans, and the baseball caps. Let's just say he hasn't asked me to ship anything more.

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.
