I wouldn't mind a museum pose so much if it was 1/4 scale.

Great statues! I ordered mine through Spec Fiction and am still waiting due to the backlog of containers. Has anyone gotten there’s delivered from them yet?

Mine only looks a little bit better , but I think that will be pretty normal finish for this piece.

I didn’t realize Randy made a mini Classic Museum Thor, and I thought I knew my ----.

I like the Bowen legs in the top of the photo. I think I was able to identity all of them by the bottom half of their legs. Fun little exercise.

When I first started collecting 11 years ago, I'd just missed my opportunity to pick up that Thor at close to retail prices. I never saw it for less that $350- $400, which was at the higher end, and above, of what newer 1/4s were going for. No way I was ever paying that much for a statue, unless it was far larger and more elaborate.

That Bowen still looks great to me.
Obviously I love the LBS. But I can't deny there is a whole lot of appeal to a box that doesn't eat up a lot of living or storage space, and a statue that only breaks down into two pieces- and can be displayed just about anywhere. All the Bowens I still own I'm quite fond of.

Here's mine

If I had one niggling criticism when I first got it, it was that the ring of Celtic knots didn't seem to survive well in the casting. They don't come through sharp and clearly defined on mine the way they do on yours.

With only a couple people having it at the time, it seemed this was par for the run, so nothing to do but shrug and move on.

Comparing it to yours, I see now it could either be that the mold was losing integrity in those fine areas, or just as likely they loaded on the silver paint which is overrunning that detail.
When they put the black wash over it, there's no deep grooves to bite into- the way there is on yours - so it ends up looking soft and lacking resolution.

None of these are perfect.
Six of one, half dozen of another.

Overall, I still think it kicks the mightiest of arses, though.
