Avengers: War of the Vampires

https://www.bleedingcool.com/2018/11...s-in-february/

This feels a little like the Curse of the Mutants arc from a few years ago when the X-Men got mixed up in the attempt to overthrow Dracula as the Lord of Vampires.

First of all, what the heck happened to She-Hulk... she used to be hot... but now, she is.......

Second... that shadow colonel is such a design knock off from the Jin Roh The Wolf Brigade anime's soldier armors.

This is not my cup of tea anyway...I like loner vigilantes, not anormous super hero teams... Big Super Hero teams never did it for me, i always thought Superman doesn't need any help, and the rest of JLA crap Batman's style. I read may be 10 issues Mighty Avengers in my life... and it was all forgatable stuff (i enjoyed the first Avengers film though, that was really epic... even if i'm not much of super hero team guy) i got Jonathan Hickman Avengers run as two Omnibuses as well... What can i say, sometimes we are just slaves of hype I hope i like them, if i like them, i may check out more Avengers. I love Vampires, I'm currently reading Dracula btw, 92 pages in after 30 pages long foreword. Just at the part of a russian guy and Mina reading the journal of the captain of the ship which brought Dracula in the England. Amazing stuff, this Avengers adventure with Dracula sounds like an ambitious project, the writter really needs to up his game to satisfy Dracula readers like me.

I am enjoying Jason Aaron's run so far. It is a very classic line up with one new member (as seems to happen when a new Avengers line up happens-would like either Wasp or Scarlet Witch as a regular member). I would like to see some more classic members return but they will be in the 10 part Avengers mini series next year.

They are going into everything with She Hulk. I did not like the look or the "Hulking out" but I am glad she is being used.

I have to say that I read Jonathan Hickman's run and even though it was good, I think he could have thrown any 20 Marvel Heroes into his run and it would have been fine. It was a story of epic proportion but just did not feel like an Avengers story.

Dracula is my single most favorite novel. Have read it multiple times. Have been reading Marvel’s Dracula character since Tomb of Dracula #1 back in the ‘70s. Hope Aaron does this one right.

As to the Hickman Avengers, to me his work on Avengers and FF was an exercise in navel gazing. His work is just dull and to filled with a sense of his own self importance. Pick up the Busiek/Perez Avengers stuff if you want some great and more modern Avengers reading.

Does Hickman Avengers Omnibuses include the secret wars which was written by him ? I think that's the conclution of his Avengers run. I missed Hickman FF omnibuses and waiting for a reprint... :/ I want to try them for myself, i may like them, after all our tastes mostly match with Wktf, he doesn't like Brubaker&Fraction Iron Fist run though... And i believe that's probably the best run of Marvel

I got the Aaron Wolverine stuff as Omnibuses except Wolverine and The X-Men, i missed that one unfortunatly and waiting for a reprint. :/ I'm an omnibus guy. I may get Aaron Avengers Omnibus as well, after all Aaron has good word of mouth around him... Not as big as Hickman hype but it's there.

As Mugatu would say: ''Hickman, he's so hot right now'' lol

I can definitely agree with you about the Busiek/Perez Avengers run. Great stories and great characterization. The thing that bothered me about the Hickman run I did not think there was alot of characterization which is why I think that any of the characters could have been interchanged with any other characters in the Marvel Universe.

Maybe I should read the x-men/Dracula story, but I’m having a hard time believing vampires would give the Avengers much trouble.
