Need some advice about selling an item.

I'm preparing to sell a grail statue and I need some help. As you may know the hard part of keeping these statues is how to store the boxes the item was shipped in. In order to save space in my garage, I decided to keep the boxes but get rid of the styrofoam.

So I've decided to sell my predator premium format and now I'm scratching my head on the slight problem of not having the styrofoam. So my question is can you buy the foam and where? What have some have you guys that were in my shoes done?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you.

Out of curiosity, when you were at that point of throwing away the Styrofoam, were you thinking that you were going to own this piece forever? Or, did you perhaps assume that you can just go to the local Home Depot and find a custom fit Styrofoam fitting there? I'm thinking you probably just weren't thinking that far and simply just threw it out either to save space or, simply just because. It happens. I imagione you won't be throwing away any other Styrofoam packaging any time soon.

Selling on eBay may be asking for trouble. I would suggest selling this locally through a LCS or Kijiji or Craig's list. You might get lucky!

In denver there are places that provide and cut foam. Perhaps you could see if there is a place like that in your town, take the box and pf there and see if they can get you a piece of foam that can be cut to fit?

Thanks to those with constructive feedback. I think my best bet so far would be to purchase cutout foam used in pelican cases and work with that. I will also pack the base in a seperate box.

Thanks again.

I've had to ship customs and that is the type of foam I used. I cut it to fit the figure and parts. It wasn't pretty but effective. Granted the things I did weren't as big as Predator but I think it should be OK.

Edit: I just looked and that stuff is pretty expensive. I don't remember where I got it but it was from a previous shipment I received.

Wonder how those hospital mattress would work. Much cheaper.

Thanks guys. I think it will be ok too especially if I'm shipping the base separately.

I will post again after its sold and share my results. I hope this will help other members.
