Hacksaw Ridge (2016) - WWII American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, who served during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people, and becomes the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot.

The first half was kind of corny. The battle scenes though were amazingly shot. 7/10

I just saw Arrival and I absolutely loved it!! Sci-fi is by FAR my single favorite genre of movies and book and I can't honestly begin to stress that point enough. I am just a sci-fi junkie in every sense of the word and Arrival was just absolutey brilliant. It is definitely one of my favorite films of 2016.

Passengers (2016) - A spacecraft traveling to a distant colony planet and transporting thousands of people has a malfunction in its sleep chambers. As a result, two passengers are awakened 90 years early.

Critics were not kind to this movie--I'm guessing due to Chris Pratt's character's actions, but despite that, I didn't think the movie was so bad. 6/10

I really need to watch that again. Its been so long since I have seen it that I really don't remember much about it at all, just that I enjoyed it enough to actually buy the DVD set, which I still own. Need to pop that in one of these days and give it aother go. Have always been a big fan of the books and the movie.

Mad Max - Black & Chrome Edition - 10/10

Masterpiece and one of the best films of the 21st century. I still need time to digest it, but I actually think this version might be the better one. The night scenes and everything else is just beautiful. It feels very poetic and timeless.

Córki dancingu / The Lure (2015) - In 1980s Warsaw, a pair of mermaid sisters are adopted into a cabaret. While one seeks love with humans the other hungers to dine on the human population of the city.

I had high hopes when reading about the movie beforehand and it delivered. This Polish horror-musical was crazy fun. 9/10

A Christmas Horror Story (2015) 7.5/10

Had never heard of this one til I happened upon a good review somewhere. It's an anthology Christmas themed movie w/ William Shatner acting as the thread who ties the 4 stories together. All but one are really fun & there's a surprise ending which I didn't see coming. I'm a huge fan of anthology horror w/ Amicus being my favorite. I just never heard of this one. It's free on Netflix. Killer Krampus.
