BTW.. did anyone listen to that podcast of kevin smith where he outlined the idea of a show based on Bruce's youth ... n time in school / college ( i think it was with paul Dini ).. n that premise was much better than this show
I'll look for it and link it up ..

Well i watched the first episode last night and wasn't overly impressed. The wife seem to like it though so i might be stuck watching it.
Looking forward to Flash more than this and i have no interest in that character at all

well, for the sake of all that is Batman, I really tried to enjoy this show. Unfortunately, I just can't do it anymore. The show has a serious identity crisis and I'd have thought it'd have found itself after this amount of episodes, but I was wrong.
Good luck to all those that are going to stick it out hoping for some sort of payoff. You are about to witness Bruce Wayne become the world's greatest detective before he even hits puberty

Did you think he just instantly became the greatest detective when he turned 18? You act like there's an age requirement for being a genius and that's basically what Bruce Wayne is even if he's young...
I honestly don't understand your description of Identity crises, James Gordon solves crimes, not sure what the Identity crises is there..

Bruce went from "Gee dad, that movie we just saw sure was swell" to "It was clearly Professor Plum in the kitchen with a candlestick" in the span of half an episode. (a Clue reference seemed fitting )
There is no age requirement for genius, but his transition just wasn't believable. What they should have done is have a few episodes pre-murder (of his parents) to show us how Bruce was prior. They're already playing so loosely with the mythos at this stage that they likely could have easily convinced the execs that a few pre-murder scenes were worthy.
People ripped apart AoS for being a joke...Gotham is only marginally better

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I'd have thought that within such a short time after his parents murder, Bruce would be too busy being a distraught, heartbroken child rather than a cold, weary detective most commonly associated with his older self.. It's disingenuous, it's inorganic and it lacks transition; like it all happened at the flip of a switch.
No one said it was an issue of age or intellect.
Bruce's characterization is probably my least favorite aspect of the show so far. The rest I find pretty enjoyable.

So from that 8 second scene you were able to figure Bruce was not very smart and immature, all because he liked a movie... Well the kid does have motivation, seeing your parents killed can make your grow up quickly... And keep in mind weeks or even months can easily pass between episodes, this is not the TV Show 24
Anyways from what I've seen so far the Bruce story is just a small side story, the main story is still James Gordon.
And what does the comic Mythos have to do with a TV Show? I don't know why you guys just don't come out say what you really mean "The show sucks because it's not like the comic books"

So are they suppose to have half the season with Bruce continually burning himself and walking on the edge of roof tops thinking about jumping off?... would be kind of boring.. Marvels Agents of Shield try to take the slow approach and almost got their show cancelled...
If things like this annoy you then you guys must really hate Arrow, where their turning girls who have zero fighting skills into Assassins and Superhero's over night And then you got Flash who didn't know how to fight turn into Bruce Lee with no training...

you like a show that has been badly thought out since the opening minute. Everyone has their 'guilty pleasure' so no point in going any further with this...
