I was sort of expecting her the be black when I heard "Voodoo Priestess". Then when I heard her name, I was expecting her to be stark white. The flesh tone suprised me as well. Jonathan paints each piece invididually though, so if you wanted a black one, he will do that for you I'd think. I had my Cleopatra painted black.

Thanks for posting the pics and link. I get the race/ colour argument given the Voodoo term but I personally ĺike the term Priestess and it's setting suggest a more ancient form of voodoo than we asociate now with modern forms so her colour for me is fine.

Jonathan has one statue that's painted in dark skin tones... more of a torso. I think, and it's just my opinion, that white statues sell better than black ones. If that wasn't the case, you would see the occasional black statue. Yes, I know the black marvel statues and such are being made but I question how well even these sell in comparison. So I get why he made the choice he did.
I'm personally not going to get hung up on her name... she's an evil sorceress. This is a definite buy for me.
