2018 - Your Year in Statues

As the year draws to a close wanted to reflect on the highlights in statue collecting for members on here.

What were your favorite statues? What were the most exciting announcements?

My highlights were

Tweeterhead's Super Power Line

This line is the dream line, and Tweeterhead keeps delivering on promise of oft ignored characters getting a chance to shine next to core ones.



DC Bombshells Big Barda

I love the Bombshells line, but began to worry it was running out of steam. Then DC hits me with Big Barda who I've been wanting in any form.



Iron Studios Power Girl

No way I couldn't mention my number one character getting a new statue. Feels like a long weight, but happy with Iron Studios and this 1/10 piece. Now can we discuss 1/3?



Joelle Jones DC Cover Girl Series

The DC Cover Girls lines have always been good, but I don't think they've ever been as consistently great as the current Jones line that has winner after winner for me.



Prime 1 Artgerm Series

I never expected this, but the possibilities of this line are staggering assuming Prime 1 can work done through the characters. Reading them state a Power Girl was in the works was my ultimate jaw dropper for the year.

Iron Studios Wonder Woman

It is one thing to see a video of 1/3, but when you first get one and see it, it just takes your breath away. Iron Studios really did a phenomenal job on Diana and offered tons of statues. She epitomizes the concept of a centerpiece to me and now down the 1/3 rabbit hole I go...

Was Prime 1 Lady Maria this year? If so, she gets it from me. Otherwise, HMO Morrigan. I don't have her, but from what I've seen that statue is a true work of art

Morrigan is definitely among the best statues this year I didn't get. Makes me curious about Felicia.

I've seen both in person. Morrigan definitely edges out Maria in my opinion. Maria was cool. Morrigan is mind blowing.

Pretty good year overall, getting Guyver 1 and Mortighull were real highlights, along with Ultra Zanfgief being a bit of a stunner....and F4F have been consistently awesome.

I moved completely away from Marvel and DC this year and i feel better for it, feel my collection is a lot more interesting and looking forward to more from Prime 1 especially in 2019.

I've got Prime 1 Snake Eyes Ex pre-ordered, Slan Ex pre-ordered, Berserk armor Gutts Ex on waitlist, Berserk Femto pre-ordered, and am waiting for Cyborg Superman, Knightfall Batman, and Berserk Void with Conrad to come up.

I've got PCS 1/3 Chun-Li Classic and Alpha fully paid.

I'm waiting for a Koto styled DRS Storm custom to be finished, am waiting for a repaint of Koto's DRS Cyclops to be finished, aaannnd that's about it. I'm angry I missed the AngryMonkey customs for Cyclops and Emma frost Phoenix Five, but you win some you lose some =(

I want to thank Craig, Kelpie and SDguy for making me aware of the Soldier Story Unicron Lamp. Just got it yesterday, no issues!

I also want to thank an unnamed eBay seller for putting up Tongue Lashing for two hundred bucks so I could purchase it and frame it myself while laughing my way to the bank at the ones up for around 1K!


Looking forward to P1 AO Mr. Freeze, P1 DOTM Shockwave, P1 LK Megatron, SS Catwoman, HMO's Zero and XM Transformers whenever they decide to release one.
