I love this show and it's nice to see the characters are still the same.
Roger can't go into Don's office without making a drink.

Loved the season 4 opener and I gotta say it "feels" different in terms of production. The lighting in the new space is way up, with huge windowed walls and ceiling lighting. Gone are the subbdued lights of shaded windows and desk lamps. Don, idfthe 1st show is any clue, will be finally paying the piper for three seasons of transgressions. He seems to be at the very beginning of a long fall from grace.

Great season premiere
feels like there will be more story around advertising this season and less around romance

If the first episode is any indication, this season will be really rough. There was some amazingly harsh dialog going on between a lot of the characters. So much that if this happened in current society, I'm sure the characters would be fighting in the streets. I did love the new offices and music which reminded me of the scene in The Incredibles when Mr. Incredible returns after beating the omnidroid.

Spoilers concerning the 2nd ep. below. Do not read if you haven't watched.

---------------------------------------------------

Wow, episode 2 of the new season sinks Don even further into the abyss. In just 2 episodes we've seen the chisled, beatnik, dharma-hero go from A-list, suave ad man, with dozens of bedpost notches and men wanting to be him, to being called "pathetic" by 20something underlings, pittied by sexy nurse neighbors, passed out in the hallway of his ratty apartment w/ a pint bottle in his hand and called "a type" by a 60's bombshell psychologist. Is he being punished or what? I know the hole's gonna go deeper, I just can't predict how Don's gonna crawl out of it.
And Roger last night having to play Santa....man, how the mighty have fallen.

Who says he's going to crawl out of it??? The thing with the secretary was just a douchey thing to do. What did she expect though??? I guess she thought it would be a repeat of Roger Sterling's story. Speaking of Roger Sterling... couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

"cause Don's whole life has been a "crawl" up (He was named after his father's maleness by a deseased ridden prostitute, and has been crawling up & out ever since). What are they gonna do, spend the next 3 seasons showing Don just free-falling? He'll turn it around, I just think rock-bottom's gonna take a while to hit.

Yes, a great episode, and I was happy to see Freddy return, as well.

I was not happy to see Glen return. That weirdo kid gives me the creeps.
