Sleep problems: Fitbit tracking, possible Deviated Septum/Sleep Apnea

Have any of ya'll tracked your sleep with a fitbit watch? I've been feeling like total crap(tired most of the time, blood in nose most mornings, neck pain and headaches) for the last 2-3 months and started tracking it 3-4 weeks ago. The best sleep score I've registered so far is 70/100 which is fair but I usually average around 55 which is bad. I started wearing Breathe Right strips for the last 4 nights and have improved greatly, I'm averaging high 60's even only sleeping 5-6 hours. The only problem is the strip keeps coming loose on the sides which loses it's effectiveness.

I also seem to do much worse with OTC sleep aids, one night I slept 14 hours after taking some and woke up feeling completely exhausted and actually fell asleep for another 2-3 hours just a few hours after waking up . I have an appointment with a sleep specialist but it's over 2 months away, my reg doctor I just started seeing totally dismissed my concerns about sleep and was trying to put me on Zoloft (WTF?). She had no interest in the sleep scores and just recommended the usual Benadryl, Melatonin etc.that hasn't helped at all.

Has anyone with these symptoms had any luck with the nose strips or other CPAP alternatives? I'm hoping I don't need a CPAP but I want to get quality sleep and want to see if something works before 2 months , and I'm not obese either I'm a bit overweight though

There can be many reasons as to why someone doesn't get a good night sleep. Without a proper "sleep study" you would only be guessing for a solution. I would try to find a good supportive doctor and see if he/she could help in getting you a study before the two months you mentioned.
With a proper study they can determine where and how your sleep is being affected. If it is determined that you need a CPAP device please give it a try and time to adjust to using it since some do need more time. You will be surprised at how rested and energized you will feel when you get a full night of uninterrupted sleep.

My own sleep pattern can get out of sorts if my schedule is changing from day to day. It's generally not too bad if I'm going to sleep and getting up at the same times over a period.

I've gone through one period of about 6 months of either not being able to fall asleep, stay asleep for more than a few hours at a time, and not feeling rested even after what seemed like a full night. Sleeping pills gave me the hours, but no improvement in terms of how i was feeling the next day. At the time, it was mainly due to depression and anxiety, but nothing says that a physical problem can't be also present. It's important to consider all possibilities as I have Turbinate Hypertrophy, a condition that blocks breathing through your nose. I feel it more during the winter heating season and my quality of sleep usually takes a hit.

Regular physicians are great, but you really should try to see the sleep specialist as they can usually identify the underlying physical problems after one or two days of monitoring.

Not sleeping correctly sucks big time and it affects every aspect of your life.

CPAP worked for me. I sleep like a baby now. Also you need to change doctors immediately. He's obviously an idiot. Zoloft has been known to give insomnia. I know this because it happened to me. I suffer from depression and anxiety and they prescribed Zoloft. I took it at bedtime like they said and it gave me insomnia. Took like 3 horrible days taking the pill in the morning to get rid of the insomnia.

Thanks for the responses, I definitely think it's a breathing/nose issue as the Breathe Right strips have been the only thing that's helped so far. I might try getting in with a nose specialist hopefully before the sleep study.
