Exactly, my thoughts too.

Likely a beautiful sculpt ruined by a horrible base. That said, I'm still extremely curious to see what they come up with but I'd be lying if I thought there was any way I'll be buying it, given their price hike and current attitude on the situation.

They are treading dangerously close to coming across as “our clientele is not within the peasant demographic”. Which as mentioned, not the case as a collector in this hobby. I really hate it. With the exception of Mags on throne, Grimlock, and Ghost Rider, I’ve bought all of their heavy hitters. The only piece left that they more than likely have me sewed up with is Galvatron. And even that’s probable depending if it’s the movie or the show’s rendering. I’ve got my Apocolypse and LB Magneto on order so I can easily wave goodbye to this company and never look back. Too bad because this company has really impressed me.

This seems to be 85% smoke, robot and tentacles with a side of Nightcrawler on top.

Compared to the Sideshow piece, i am expecting a whole lot more busyness with regards to the base. I doubt XM will top the Sideshow Nightcrawler himself, which is really what it's about. Who knows? until the full reveal.

Agree.
That was already my thought when I saw the Sideshow Nightcrawler for the first time.
XM can only score points on the base or on details, e.g. in the costume.

They can also score points on Factory production, which has a habit of being very impressive, with Sideshow being hit'n'miss depending on various factors.

When I compare an XM and a Sideshow statue, the XM is usually the one that impresses more.

But XM also has its difficulties here and there. E.g. face 1/6 Wonder Woman, the tentacles from Doc Ock's that don't fit properly, red eyes, ...

And we still have the price difference.

But I still think that the Sideshow Nightcrawler will be a hit

I'm regards to this, I'm not feeling it but I'll be honest, after the last debacle with XMs pricing, I've already went ahead and ordered the Sideshow version. This only reaffirms my decision.
