What made you think it would be that much?
Spec might be the way to go on this for that reason, though they are $50 higher for deposit orders. Even Gold collectors won't get enough back to make up for the cost difference if Weta ends up charging ~$400. I can't imagine it being that much though, my Thranduil came LTL freight on a pallet in 2 huge boxes and it was $350. This shouldn't take near the volume of that piece, but costs have gone up during the past months.

I ordered with Spec yesterday. I see they upped the price and deposit amount today however, but still probably cheapest place to get it.

Spec shipping is free, price/deposit is now the same. You also get rewards at Spec.
