Favorite Cover Girls Catwoman Statue (Waves 1 - 4)

Cover Girls General Discussion thread: http://www.statueforum.com/showthread.php?t=159118

Just curious what other forum members like.

I'll create polls as the Wave 4 Joelle Jones statues are released.

Jack Mathews is usually the Cover Girls sculptor, but I'll mention the sculptor's name if someone else subbed for Mathews.

----------

Wave 1 Adam Hughes, Wave 2 Jim Lee (sculpted by Sam Greenwell), Wave 3 Artgerm, Wave 4 Joelle Jones (will be released in November 2018)

This one's tough for me because I like the Artgerm one a lot. However, I voted for the Joelle Jones because it's not the usual "standing & waiting for the bus" pose, the zipper is pulled all the way up, and it's 1/7- instead of 1/8-scale.

I wonder if DC will make a statue based on Catwoman's new Rebirth costume (cowl instead of goggles, armpit holes)?

I love Joelle's art, but somehow I don't like how it translates to statues.

Although I'm an Artgerm fan, I prefer the Lee/Greenwell piece overall (even though she is a tad skinny) Honestly, I'm a bit inundated with the black pleather look, too. The Jones crouched look also leaves me a bit flat since I already have the Koto ARTFX+ Gotham City Sirens crouching Catwoman. I'd really like a decent 1/6th to 1/8th version of the Jim Balent purple cat suit Catwoman at an affordable price. The various 1/10th scale statues are too small, IMHO. ::: Fingers crossed :::

I have that AH one and she looks awesome. I don't think Joelle can match that one. Well, not with the one she has coming up that is.

Lets see in a few years what Joelle comes up with for another cat woman, if it happens.

Don't get me wrong, I do love Joelle's cat woman sitting on a safe, which is unique compare to all the others just standing there posing, but it doesn't hold a candle next to the AH one here, IMHO..

Here are my votes

I agree with you. I think the Joƫlle Jones Catwoman is the most authentically Selina. I love Adam and Sanley's as well but Selina is a little more conservative when it comes to exposing her sisters. Black Cat is way more playful when it comes to plunging necklines so it always felt okay for her to be drawn that way but I never liked it when they did it to Catwoman. I remember that Adam Hughes was the first (I beleive) to sculpt her in such a manner but it was playful and there was context. She was stuffing a diamond down her cleavage. His entire line was playfully sexy. Then everyone jumped on that wagon and started incorporating her with her zipper down to her vagina. So annoying. I refuse to acknowledge the third one in the line. All kinds of wrong and fugly. For me though I love it the most when she has a cat acompanying her in a statue. Jim Lee's Hush statue of her was awesome because it had two cats, her whip and a bag of stolen jewelry. All things Selina. I wonder if he'd ever get a line. The new costume is starting to grow on me. I just wish they'd keep the goggles. I like the option of her removing them when needed. Catwoman's costume in the cartoon "The Batman" had a mask underneath the goggles. That was pretty cool.
