thin lines / fine detail with airbrush
alright is there a trick here or what? been practicing for a few weeks now and yes I realize that's a short amount of time but it doesn't matter how much or little psi I use or how little I pull back on the trigger I still get a pretty decent spray out. no matter what I do it seems I cant get that fine line. im using an iwata hp-cs plus. any help is appreciated

been practicing since I posted this, I guess the trick is the distance from the brush and the piece. I had to get up close and personal for fine lines

What size needle are you using? That may be the main factor along with how close you are to the surface you're painting, but yeah, practice is often key.

The Eclipse will give you fine lines w/ practice (as you found out....) but for fine detail work you may look at getting the HP-A or HP-B w/ the .2mm nozzle/ needle.

I use an Harder & Steenbeck Infinity CRplus 2 in 1 currently, I use the 0.15 needle for most things, the bigger 0.4 one only for large areas. It is however possible to get quite fine lines with larger needles with a bit of practice, you'll have to get close to the object though. Airbrushes are are great tool, it realy is all about just doing things though and learning as you go.

I hate to say it, but practice is the key, learn to get your paint reductions right, for acrylic I go 5-6 parts reducer to 1 part paint most times, and strain your paint! Hope this helps.
