I thought the reason they didn't do the hair black originally was that it would just be too much black but that's not the case. Looks a lot better now. I think the black hair really ties it to the gorilla and makes the piece much more unified. Plus he looks 20% more bad ass. Well done ARH.

Agreed it's much better. Just wish the base popped a little more. A green moss would go a long way. The current base (from the pics atleast) blends in with the gorilla and it's rather hard to make out what he's standing on at first glance. It looks like stones and a tree stump but still, definitely needs some brighter Earth tones to bring the definition of the base out.The jungle offers such a vibrant color palate so it 's a shame for that to not be utilized on such a beautiful sculpt.

I was kinda excited for this but it really is lacking imo.

Not a fan of the sculpt at all, it all looks a little soft and the paints seem kinda flat, also really don't like Tarzans face....the whole thing just doesn't excite me, which is strange because the concept is sound. I wish Tarzans eyes were more defined and were meeting the apse, hes kinda looking right over its head to me.

Is the Crocodile diorama still going to be made? It sounded much more ambitious.

It's Tarzan fighting a giant ape... What's not to love! It is lacking something though... That would be Jane with a removable top!!! Lol!!! Seriously, I think Arahom hit the painting pretty spot on... Especially once he swapped the hair out to black. The skin tones look anything but flat. I do agree the base should have some more green or something to give it more of a jungle feel.

Does anyone else think this needs the leopard (or Jaguar) skin loincloth?

I like the brown leather hide look and its obvious who the statue is ... but there is only one character that has the yellow spotted loincloth look. Its an iconic part of the character.

..even a lion loincloth (just making it a mustard yellow) I think would help it pop more.

I think if they made his loincloth in a leopard print that Tarzan would look like a stripper from the 80s. From Disney back to the old B&W tv stuff, he's worn a solid color covering most of the time.

I'd prefer Jane in a leopard print bikini.

You know if she was in the piece like that I would have picked it up!!!! To bad people have been complaining about the statues footprint size. It would have been really awesome to see this on a bigger base with Tarzan and the ape fighting over Jane.

Think Conan: The Sacrafice, but Tarzan themed...

Lol I obviously failed to take into account the stripper connotations
