Love the new version, Tet!
Yeah, count me as yet another one amongst the disappointed. I'd read those Mack issues of DD when they came out, so I actually knew who this chick was when she was revealed, but man, what a letdown. Bad, unoriginal character. Lazy writing, too--like it's a great idea to give a blind hero a deaf villain? Please. That's like something a ten-year-old thinks up. I've never been a David Mack fan--don't care for his style at all, and I think it's pretty self-indulgent, too.
So many better choices in the MU for Ronin to be. And what the hell this girl has to do with the Hand, or Japan, or the name Ronin? No idea. What the hell is that all about?
I'm all for the grand Avengers tradition of re-inventing bad guys as good guys, but this character is a never-was. I'd have been a lot more excited if it was, in fact, the Taskmaster, rather than some tepid female knockoff.
