In a recent interview, hot toys said they encountered some problems while making the 1966 batmobile, but they think they should be able to work it out.

I read somewhere recently that Hot Toys was trying to come up with a way to get the cost down on the production. I have no inside info, but I suspect they made production estimates based on how many Batman and Robins they sold. And while they sold a ton of those, based on the sale prices recently they hoped to sell a ton and a half and needed to move inventory. Very few, like mostly car collectors, would buy the Batmobile without B&R. So that means they need more cash per Batmobile to cover the costs.
Anyway, it's just a guess.
