Fragility is a trade off for detail. I haven't ever seen this level detail on the polystone stuff I have from Sideshow. Then again, those are covered with so much thick paint, it is hard to tell if detail got lost under the paint.

I had one of the decapitated Ambers that I fixed. The big issue with that one is a packaging problem. I looked closely and the foam was sculpted where the pressure point is her head and her shoulders don't even touch the foam.

I'm no fan of the acrylic bases. I agree that they scratch too easily. But I prefer them over Sideshow's poorly painted X bases on the X-Men statues (my Psylocke base is all crackled) is it will save $30 - $40 off the price.

The Sucker Punch line has proved the following:
  • Statues can be made with greater detail.
  • Digital sculpts are a must for detailed characters.
  • Quality paint jobs can be done out of China.
  • Sideshow's prices are too high for the details and quality they often lack.

I'm not just a Sideshow basher. Most of my larger scale statues are from Sideshow and I have recently been disappointed with the inconsistency and the lack of quality for the increased prices.

OK, thanks for the clarification. Regarding the detail point, I wonder if this is why SS went with "real" cloth for clothing detail.....perhaps mixed media is really the only way to go to ensure a robust product. Imagine the company that manages to produce a statue with the paint quality of GG and surpass the clothing detail of SS, damn, I'd buy those products exclusively.

Last statue arrived today. The bulletchain was intact, which is what I was most worried about, but as I see some others have experienced, the right leg had been broken off

Also there was a small crack on the belt on the rear a 1/2 inch after the tomahawk. the cracked belt was easily fixed with some glue, is held together by its own tension.

I did add some glue to the connecting surfaces of the leg, but does not seem like all the surfaces are in contact, but with both legs secured with the screws and Blondie leaning towards the broken leg, it stands very securely.

Will contact GG to check possibility of a replacement though.

Here are all the girls together (Click for supersize):

Broken off leg

Cracked belt, sorry for out of focus, camera only wanted the background

BTW, the serial no. on base was printed upside down, or the holes were drilled on wrong side, anyone else have this happen ?

Edit: My neighbor just called to let me know she had signed for a DHL package for me today

Had to open and check edition no., 020/750

The consistency is clearly evident with each piece. Another hallmark to this line.
