I felt the same way when they announced Chris Evans would be playing Captain America, I thought I won't be able to accept him in the role since he was Johnny Storm.

But when I saw Captain America: The First Avenger, all those doubts were put to rest. Evans did a good job in the FF films, but they were barely memorable. He is Steve Rogers through and through. I don't even associate him with the Human Torch anymore.

it was the fact that he was Deadpool prior to that.
i like to keep the actors who ar playing a comic book character in the asame riole and not play another. keeps the roles genuine in my eye.

reason why i didn't like seeing Chris Evans as CA. not that he did a horrible job at it. because he did good. but the reason he was the Human Torch before he was CA. its hard believing the same actor playing a different character in a comic based film for me for the reasons i stated above. even or so when they are in the same comic universe.

but im not disliking their performance. its just hard for me to get past them being another comic character because i see the nuances and quirks in their facial expressions and voices and actions they used before.
they may be subtle but they are still there.

Tbh I don't care how the Shazam movie turns out as I don't read the source material.

thats a good point.. but those arent comic book characters. yeah i know im weird like that.
and it only bothers me when its comic book characters.

but to answer your question. yes and no. i was 11 when that came out. so i wasn't as in-tuned to force then. but now that im older i can see it.
but like i said. it doesn't bother me because they arent comic book characters. and the characters ansd stories were completely different.
